Thank you for this detailed review. I really want this laptop. It fixes a lot of the issues of the 15inch version imo.

And the scores on that 3050ti for video editing are brilliant. The Zephyrus S17 with 3080 I had was only getting under 1000 and this gets 923 points? Brilliant Asus.

    Another great review, thank you.

Can you reconfirm the HDMI port is indeed wired to the dGPU ? That would allow bypassing Optimus and smoother gameplay.

    Thanks,

Any word on the release date? All I see is that it’s on back order through adorama.

I've been using earlier models of this for the past few years and I am totally hooked on the form factor. As a motion graphic artist and computer musician, being able to see a timeline on the second display is a brilliant innovation and I am really glad Asus have stuck with it. Like the previous model, this seems to build on what already work really well, offering more screen space and better displays.

Having the keyboard at the bottom of the chassis also turns out to be a huge advantage if you use a Wacom tablet or, like me, a MIDI controller keyboard. My Roli Seaboard Block sits perfectly in front of my laptop but still allows easy access for typing. I'd also point out that the height above your desk is pretty much identical to the desktop keyboards most of us have used for decades, so you don't need a wrist rest to type in perfect comfort.

After reading this review, I am definitely going to purchase one today so thanks for all the info.

Does this model also has the grainy screen problem as the 14X OLED model?

Have you tested it's microphone?, I recently purchased it's i9 varient and the mics pick up a lot of noise, seems like noise cancellation mics are adding noise instead of subtracting them. Any solution?

    Hi Andrei
Dual screen is almost a must for me, but I would prefer better battery life and bigger screen (as in the old Duo 15 Model).
2023 a Zephyrus Duo 16 came out – do you think there will be a new (= 12, 13th gen) ZenBook Pro Duo OLED 16"(or 15") within the next year?
That would be worth the wait for me, otherwise i'd just go with the 14", which I can buy already.
    Thanks

I don't know at this point. I'd expect they would continue and update the Duo series with the new specs available in 2024, but that's just my supposition. Not sure if they'll have a Duo 16, though.

Well my hope is/was, that if the have the Dual screen Gaming chassis for 16", they might carry parts of that over and make a eznbook pro duo 16". Some more waiting then…;)

Unfortunately, it's not true that the SSD is upgradable. At least not in a "normal" and acceptable way. The SSD is put on a sticky HeatSink and can not be simply taken out without heating (and risking to destroy) the mainboard.

Are you sure? As far as I remember, you can pull out the sticky part easily without any heat. And even a little bit of heat won't do anything, that portion of the MB already runs at 50+C in sustained loasd.
